Marks iPod Touch

I will be leaving Marks iPod Touch for good. It has been great being here on this blog. I have learned a lot from it. We even had 10,000+ uniques in less then 1 hour. We used to be updated a lot, always adding new stuff. It seems everyone has lost interest. I can’t update this whole site myself, and have the owner not even interested in this. Thank you guys, I have had a great time here, but it looks like this is my time to leave.

There has been just about no news here for about a month. I am very sorry about that. But what I would like to announce is that the forum has gotten a new theme. We have also, about a month ago, moved to paid hosting. I am not sure if Mark would like to move to my server or not. Anyways, just trying to keep you updated!

A new dock tweak called Infinidock has been added to the Cydia Store. It costs $0.99 on the Big Boss repo. Infinidock is a small tweak that allows you to have 10 icons on your dock. You can scroll throught the icons on your dock. The developer that made Infinidock also helped make a multitasking app called ProSwitcher.

Hey guys lately there have been many viruses for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The first ones were only to jailbroken devices, but now the newest one is for both jailbroken and unjailbroken. Nicolas Seriot discovered lately that jailbroken iPhones and iPods are more vulnerable to the virus because you can not change the username or password. For all devices the default username and password are username=root and password=alpine. These are used to use VNC and SSH. But if you are jailbroken you can download Mobile Terminal and use the following instructions to change the password. Also if you install iFile or a SSH client you can change your username.

Change username instructions:

1. Open up iFile or SSH into your iPod/iPhone

2. Go all the way back to /

3. Go into the “etc” folder

4. Scroll down till you find “master.passwd” and open it as a text file

5. Look at the left side of the text and scroll down untill you see “root:(code here):0:0::0:0:System”

6. Now change ONLY THE WORD “root” (this will be your new username so pick good and also it is CAsE SensITivE

7. Now your done congrats DO NOT LOSE THIS PASSWORD OR ELSE YOU CANT USE VNC OR SSH!!

Change password instructions:

1. Open up Mobile Terminal

2. Type login and click enter

3. Type in your username (default is “root”) and click enter

4. Type alpine and click enter

5. Type passwd and click enter

6. Type in your new password and click enter

7. Re-enter your password and click enter

8. Now you are done!!!

Please tell me if you have any issues with this. Also make note of your new username and password so that you dont lose it and cant SSH or use VNC.

Hello everyone i am sorry for this but I have some bad news. I am going to get grounded soon probably. My parents want me to have my grades at a B or above. Otherwise I get grounded. Right now i have 1 D and 1 C. I am working as hard as I can to bring those up but I’m running out of time!! The quarter ends on December 17 so I don’t have enough time to get them to B’s . I will be grounded till my grades are better. I am going to try as hard as I can!!

This does mean that iUpdates will not be worked on and I can’t even get on Internet or use my iPod.
