Hey guys lately there have been many viruses for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The first ones were only to jailbroken devices, but now the newest one is for both jailbroken and unjailbroken. Nicolas Seriot discovered lately that jailbroken iPhones and iPods are more vulnerable to the virus because you can not change the username or password. For all devices the default username and password are username=root and password=alpine. These are used to use VNC and SSH. But if you are jailbroken you can download Mobile Terminal and use the following instructions to change the password. Also if you install iFile or a SSH client you can change your username.

Change username instructions:

1. Open up iFile or SSH into your iPod/iPhone

2. Go all the way back to /

3. Go into the “etc” folder

4. Scroll down till you find “master.passwd” and open it as a text file

5. Look at the left side of the text and scroll down untill you see “root:(code here):0:0::0:0:System”

6. Now change ONLY THE WORD “root” (this will be your new username so pick good and also it is CAsE SensITivE

7. Now your done congrats DO NOT LOSE THIS PASSWORD OR ELSE YOU CANT USE VNC OR SSH!!

Change password instructions:

1. Open up Mobile Terminal

2. Type login and click enter

3. Type in your username (default is “root”) and click enter

4. Type alpine and click enter

5. Type passwd and click enter

6. Type in your new password and click enter

7. Re-enter your password and click enter

8. Now you are done!!!

Please tell me if you have any issues with this. Also make note of your new username and password so that you dont lose it and cant SSH or use VNC.

Hello everyone i am sorry for this but I have some bad news. I am going to get grounded soon probably. My parents want me to have my grades at a B or above. Otherwise I get grounded. Right now i have 1 D and 1 C. I am working as hard as I can to bring those up but I’m running out of time!! The quarter ends on December 17 so I don’t have enough time to get them to B’s . I will be grounded till my grades are better. I am going to try as hard as I can!!

This does mean that iUpdates will not be worked on and I can’t even get on Internet or use my iPod.

Hey guys, I thought I would go ahead and tell you how some people have gotten past the Appulo.us Troll Toll.

1. The first thing I have heard is that if you get the answer to one of the questions then go into Installous and start backgrounder (both from Cydia), then whenever you get back in you can go straight to searching. I have not tested this but a couple people on the forum have said it works.

2. The second way how to bypass the question is to go to google and search “site:appulo.us NAME OF APP” (ie. site:appulo.us Waveboard). Look at the first few links and it should be there. DO NOT CLICK THE LINK!!! If you just go into it you will go back to the Troll Toll. Next to the links on Google you should see either “cache” or “options”. If it says option there will be a dropdown menu so click the arrow. Go into cache and you can see the page and links for this site now! Hope this helps! We will not stop posting the passwords just so you know.

Update: Just hit 1100 members in forum!!!! If you look at the bottom of the sidebar on the site you will see the stats and we are growing fast!!! Thanks so much for helping my site get popular.
